Equine Assisted Psychotherapy

We utilize the EAGALA model (unmounted, equine led psychotherapy) to push past the barriers of traditional talk therapy and facilitate deep intrapsychic healing.  Please visit the EAGALA website at https://www.eagala.org/ to learn more about the model and process.

Equine Therapy...

We utilize unmounted therapy to optimize the relationship and autonomy of both humans and horses.  Horses are highly empathic and attuned to human mood and behavior.  Their responses, free from the restraint of halter or saddle, tell us more about ourselves than any human interaction because they are not constrained by human social rules or etiquette.  For many humans, horses provide their primary source of non-judgmental interaction and connectedness.

Equine Group Therapy

Groups run monthly on Saturdays, 9:30 am to 11 am, starting May 24.  You will meet with the horses, your group peers, and two counselors to learn about yourself with respect to the group topics, listed below.

  • 5/24: Boundaries
  • 6/21: Communication
  • 7/19 (tentative date - may have to be moved due to clinician travel): Self Esteem
  • 8/16: Relationship Building
  • 9/6: Boundaries (revisited)
  • 10/11: Healthy Coping

Individual Equine Therapy

Limited Spaces are available for monthly individual therapy with the horses.  Please contact your individual therapist for more information and to schedule.
